Celebrating Architecture Week 2019

FMG celebrates National Architecture Week 2019! We recognize our design professionals who are changing the future of transportation and creating spaces that improve mobility, connect people, and enhance experiences for our community. Here are some of our recently completed projects.

SFO Long Term Parking Garage No. 2

FMG Architects worked as part of a joint venture to design and build a new parking facility located within LOT DD, which opened in 2019. This garage is a certified green Parksmart garage, and will achieve net-zero energy consumption via the use of photovoltaic panels and other sustainability features. The parking garage also features baggage drop off, dry cleaning, valet parking, car wash, and kennel services.

BART Warm Springs/South Fremont Station

FMG provided complete architectural design services for the design-build delivery of the new Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station, which is part of the system’s extension into Silicon Valley. This project included an enclosed pedestrian overpass which connects the elevated station concourse with station parking, a bus intermodal facility, and planned adjacent transit-oriented development east of the station. The station opened in 2017.

Downtown Berkeley BART Plaza and Transit Area Improvement Project

FMG completed architectural construction documents for the new Downtown Berkeley BART Station Plaza. It opened to the public on October 18, 2018, featuring enhanced bus and BART connectivity, pedestrian improvements and modern environmental elements. The plaza is designed to improve both safety and walkability through LED lighting, granite aggregate pavers with neutral color tones, public art and landscaping.
