FMG provided complete architectural design services for the design-build delivery of the new Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station - part of the system’s extension into Silicon Valley. FMG completed the design of the station in 2013 as a sub-consultant on the team, which consisted of an at-grade station with an elevated concourse. The enclosed pedestrian overpass connects the elevated station concourse with station parking, a bus intermodal facility, and planned adjacent transit-oriented development east of the station. The station features a two-story entry rotunda glazed in colorful art glass. The incorporation of public art and implementation of sustainability strategies has garnered the context-sensitive design praise from the local community.
